TYPES OF BANKING INSTITUTIONS

TYPES OF BANKING INSTITUTIONS

Speaker 1
:
What type of bank is this?

Ini bank jenis apa?

Speaker 2
:
We’re a commercial bank.

Kami adalah bank dagang.

Speaker 1
:
Does that mean that your services are limited?

Apakah itu berarti bahwa jasa anda terbatas?

Speaker 2
:
To some extent. For instance, we can’t offer the fiduciary services that a trust company can.

Sampai batas tertentu.

Speaker 1
:
What are they?

Apakah itu?

Speaker 2
:
Well, they have to do with the administration of trusts and estates.

Itu adalah menyangkut administrasi trusts dan esates.

Speaker 1
:
Suppose I wanted to sell some securities. Does your bank handle such transactions?

Seandainya saya ingin menjual beberapa securities. Apakah bank anda menangani transaksi serupa itu?

Speaker 2
:
Yes, through our brokerage house.

Ya melalui brokerage house kami.

Speaker 1
:
Is your broker a member of stock exchange?

Apakah broker anda seorang anggota stock exchange?

Speaker 2
:
Yes.

Ya.

Speaker 1
:
This is a state bank, isn’t it?

Ini adalah bank negara (bagian), bukan?

Speaker 2
:
That’s right.

Betul.

Speaker 1
:
Do you offer fewer services than a nation bank?

Speaker 2
:
No. In general, the only difference is that a state bank gets its charter from the state it’s in, and the national bank gets its charter from the federal government in Washington, D.C.

Speaker 1
:
Are there banks that don’t offer regular commercial services?

Speaker 2
:
Oh, yes, For example, Savings and Loan associations and the Federal Land Banks are only lending institutions.

Speaker 1

Would you say a savings and loan association is a bank?

Apakah anda berpendapat bahwa sebuah badan simpan pinjam sebuah bank?

Speaker 2

No. I’d rather just call it a financial institution.

Tidak. Saya lebih suka menamakannya sebuah lembaga keungan saja.

Speaker 1

How about a credit union?

Bagaimana dengan sebuah credit union?

Speaker 2

That’s not really a bank, either.

Itu juga bukan sebuah bank.

Speaker 1

And a finance company is something entirely different.

Speaker 2

Yes

Ya
